Who we are
Ananda began to look deeper into spirituality early in his time at Cambridge University. Whilst reading Economics, he began to attend events at the university Krishna consciousness society and looking more at the philosophy as propounded by Srila Prabhupada. He was taken aback by the philosophical rigour and logical approach taken in the books as well as the coverage and applicability of the philosophy, finding satisfying answers to many long-standing questions. This inspired him to help the running of his university society and become increasingly dedicated to helping interested others access the long-hidden Vedic wisdom.
Going on to complete a successful period in the city as a trader, Ananda decided to take a sabbatical to India to practice Krishna consciousness on a full-time basis as a monk. Finding this lifestyle immensely fulfilling, he returned to stay at Bhaktivedanta Manor as a monk. During his time so far, he has found a passion in expounding the Vedic teachings at universities and colleges across the UK as well as to local communities. In particular he wants to create more of an awareness of the applicability of spirituality to modern life. He has also found much inspiration after undertaking a study of the key Sanskrit texts of ancient India, including the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam.
