Who we are
Sutapa Das is a resident monk at ISKCON UK's headquarters, Bhaktivedanta Manor. As he grew up he was always attracted to the concept of 'simple living high thinking', keenly seeking something beyond the 'nine to five'. After graduating from UCL in 2002 with a degree in Information Management, he decided to take to a monastic life of exploration into the ancient Vedic teachings. His core interest is in spiritual leadership and counselling, and he was recently invited to participate in the 'Faith in Leadership' programme. Supported by prominent figures, including the Archbishop of Canterbury, the programme aims at training young faith leaders in the UK and encouraging communication and cohesion amongst faith communities.
Sutapa Das has also lectured at many universities all over the UK, and is an active advisor to the community's local youth groups. He has undertaken a serious study of numerous ancient Sanskrit texts, particularly the Bhagavad-gita. He has a passion to share the spiritual tools, worldviews, and lifestyles this ancient wisdom has to offer and present spirituality in a dynamic, relevant and accessible way to people from all walks of life.
